Blurb: When children go missing without a trace, there is only one person who can find them.
Welcome to the world of Rylee Adamson, a woman with unique abilities, some wild friends and a unstoppable drive to save those who can't save themselves.
But when the details of a missing child duplicate that of her worst case, things start to get freaky. And not in a good way.
This book just kind of jumped out at me on Amazon. I read the blurb and had to buy it, so a complete impulse buy. I'm really glad I did though, because I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a great mash-up of urban fantasy, romance, and mystery. The romance has enough sexual tension to keep you interested, but it doesn't completely take over the story and it isn't rushed.
Riley is a kick-ass heroine, snarky yet she has a sensitive side. She risks her life finding and rescuing missing children, those taken behind the veil where normal detectives couldn't find them. She's a wonderful character and I can't wait to see where Shannon Mayer takes her next!
It's hard for me to put into words exactly why this book is so awesome, but believe me it is. When I read it I was going through a book slump, and nothing would hold my interest for more than a few chapters. This book helped me through it, because I didn't want to put it down! I'm not the only one who enjoyed it either, it's got 4.5 stars on Amazon with 156 reviews right now!
