Book Liaison was started in May 2012. We review books, do author interviews, and feature excerpts from upcoming and new books.
I love to read, well that's pretty obvious, but I mean it. I've always loved to read. Even before I could actually read I revered books, keeping all of my Little Golden Books in a box that I would pack around the house with me and treating them as the special treasures that I knew they were.
I even memorized whole books word for word when my parents would read to me. I knew them so well that most people thought that I could read long before I actually could.
Fast forward a lot of years, after I had my first child I thought that I'd never have time to read again, at least not in the foreseeable future. After a few years my husband bought me a Kindle for my birthday. I thought it was a waste of time and e-readers were fairly new, so it took me a while to actually use it.
Lots more years later and three more children (yep that's four total), and I don't know what I'd do without my Kindle. Being able to set my reader down and pick up where I left off, and not having to worry about losing my place, has made it really easy for me to read again. Goodreads also opened me up to a world of possibilities, and led me to create Book Liaison with my friend Jess.
Although Jess no longer has time to blog, I couldn't give it up. I love to read and review. I love working on my blog. I love setting goals for myself and Book Liaison. It gives me a sense of community and tons of satisfaction to see my hard work on display, and if I can get even one person to find a new author to love then I would be happy with that. That's what I want with this blog, to share my love of reading with others.
