#Review for Abandoned and Unseen by Alexandra Ivy & Carrie Ann Ryan #Giveaway

The next in a new dark and gritty paranormal series. Abandoned and Unseen continues the journey with NYT Bestselling Authors, Alexandra Ivy and Carrie Ann Ryan.

AbandonedWhen bear shifter, Anya Tucker fell in love with the wrong man, the only thing she left with was a broken heart—and her two bear cubs. Now she’s mended her wounds and learned that in order to raise her babies she can only trust herself. When her sons meet the lazy cat next door and fall heads over tails for him, she’ll do whatever she takes to protect them—even from a past she’d thought she’d left behind.
Cole McDermott is a jaguar on a mission. Long naps, a willing woman, and a full stomach is usually all he needs when it comes to relaxing after a long day of protecting his Pack. Then he meets Anya and the burn of temptation is silky and tantalizing indeed. When a horror from Anya’s past threatens everything she loves, Cole will put everything aside and fight for her family—as well as his own.
UnseenNicole Bradley had no reason to live after the humans murdered her son. Not until she learns to hunt down those responsible for his death. Shifting into her wolf form at night, she slips out of the compound, determined to do as much damage as possible. The last thing she expected was to discover secrets that could destroy the SAU.
Polar shifter, Tucker Stone, lives off the grid. It’s the only way the Unseen can avoid being rounded up by the humans and tossed into a compound. Besides, he’s a loner by nature. But he can’t walk away when he sees the pretty female wolf in danger. Risking exposure, he takes her to his hidden den and tries to heal her wounds.

Can a reclusive polar bear and a wolf with a death wish find happiness together?
Abandoned:

Abandoned was a good read, with jaguar shifter Cole being my favorite character. Cole's a cat shifter and his personality completely matched the way I think a feline shifter would act. A lot of people think Cole is lazy in the compound but really he doesn't waste energy unless it's something he thinks is worth doing. He's loyal and realizes his feelings for Anya long before she acknowledges them. I didn't like Anya as well as Nicole from the second story but she was still a good character. She's protective of her cubs just like any good mama bear would be, but I think it was her attitude towards Cole that made me not want to like her at first, although she did grow on me. Anya's cubs were adorable and I loved that Cole didn't have any problem with her already having kids, there aren't enough stories out their with moms. There were also other characters in this story that I'd like to see get their own story, especially Anya's brother. Overall Abandoned was a quick, fun read and I was really looking forward to reading Unseen as soon as I was done.

Unseen:

Unseen was my favorite out of the two stories, of course I was already intrigued by Tucker when he was introduced in Abandoned. Tucker is a rare polar bear shifter and one of the unseen (the shifters who hid from the SAU and still live out in the populace). Nicole is still grieving after her son was murdered by an SAU guard seven years ago, the only thing that has kept her going is seeking her revenge. Nicole is a wolf shifter and I loved that she is a very tough and resourceful woman who's not afraid to take on the SAU all by her self.

Unseen was a really good story, not only did I immediately like Nicole and empathize with her, I also wanted her to move on and stop focusing on the past, so I was emotionally invested in her story.  Tucker is a tough, alpha type male but I like that he doesn't try to force Nicole to do anything she doesn't want to do and that he lets her come to terms with things on her own. He doesn't try to stop her from getting her revenge, just tries to make it safer for her to do so. It was a short read but I didn't feel like I was missing out on any of the story by being rushed. I'll actually be looking out for Carrie Ann Ryan's other books now because I really enjoyed this one so much! Overall Unseen was a really good read that left me hungry for the next installment!
Carrie Ann Ryan Bio:

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.

Alexandra Ivy Bio:

Alexandra Ivy graduated from Truman University with a degree in theatre before deciding she preferred to bring her characters to life on paper rather than stage. She started her career writing traditional regencies before moving into the world of paranormal with her USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times bestselling series The Guardians of Eternity. Now she writes a wide variety of genres that include paranormal, erotica, and romantic suspense.

  2. So true, there's not much books about single parents and the like. I myself am drawn to stories that features characters who've LIVED

    1. Me too! I just get tired of the same characters all the time, and as a mom it'd be nice to see a few more parents in the books I read :) Single moms need HEAs as much as the single ladies lol! Thanks for stopping by!
