Livy Kowalski has no time for idiots. When you shapeshift into a honey badger, getting through life’s irritants is a finely honed skill. Until she gets stuck housing her nutso cousin and dealing with her dad’s untimely and unexplained demise.

That’s where Vic Barinov comes in—or his house does. Vic can’t step outside without coming back to find Livy devouring his honey stash and getting the TV remote sticky. It gets his animal instincts all riled up. But he’ll have to woo her at high speed: all hell is breaking loose, and Livy is leading the charge…

Bite Me was really different than a lot of PNR books out there. Shelley Laurenston doesn't shy away from hybrids or different kinds of shifters, and it was really refreshing seeing a new take. Her books are written with a good dose of humor that I loved.
I guess that the main problem that I had with the book is that the POV shifts often, between a lot of different characters. I'm not sure this would bother fans of the series because they would know who a lot of the characters are. I had trouble keeping characters straight though and I probably wouldn't have if I'd read the previous books, so that is my fault. So I wouldn't recommend reading it as a standalone.
I did like the book however, and Livy was most of the reason why. Her dry humor and attitude made me smile several times. I really liked Vic too, and their relationship was cute, just not overly romantic. I liked that Vic really does 'get' who Livy is, he understands her better than just about anybody, and accepts her just as she is.
Ultimately it was a good story, just a bit confusing for this newbie to the series. I did like the author's humor and would be glad to read another book in the series (or other books from this author), maybe this time from the beginning.

Throughout the book Livy's behavior reminded me of this funny video a friend showed me on YouTube, The Crazy Nastyass Honey Badger. Just a warning though, there is foul language and animal violence, you've been warned! Enjoy :)
